So… I totally jinxed myself with commenting on the weather in Falicia and Eric’s blog, but I think the warm weather this past Saturday was just what was needed for this gorgeous wedding! Shanna and TJ decided to get married at the, always gorgeous, Occasions at the Mansion. They got married underneath a stunning chandelier with all of their family and friends close by.
Shanna’s dress and bridal details were breathtaking, and TJ looked handsome in his white shirt, dark jeans, and red and navy tie. All of this came together so beautifully during their ceremony! Shanna was escorted down the aisle by her father and daughter, and TJ had to make it a point to turn around when he saw me trying to capture his reaction just in case he started crying. No worries, though! I still caught him catching glimpses of his lovely wife-to-be as she walked down to take his hand in marriage!
Shanna and TJ wrote their own vows that were very tear-jerking, and truth be told I may or may not have been tearing up behind my camera.. but you guys will never know which one because I’m able to hide it all behind my lens. TJ even had a ring to give to Shanna’s daughter, who he has taken in and loved as if she were his own. It was such a precious ceremony, even though Maci didn’t want to go up there to get her ring.
After they were announced as man and wife, we broke away from the crowd to take some amazing family and wedding party pictures. With the reception hall and the sun giving a glow behind them it couldn’t have been more perfect! We snuck away for them to sign their marriage certificate and get a quiet moment to themselves before their grand entrance into their reception.
The newlywed couple slowly danced to Feather in Her Halo, followed by a slow dance with TJ and his mother. But then, Shanna and her father took the dance floor and after about half of a slow dance they broke out into the chicken dance! I always LOVE when the bride and her father have a secret fun dance to liven up the mood! Everybody thought it was great and there was a roar of laughter filling the room! Shanna, you and your father killed it up there!
During the reception we celebrated with cake cutting (and of course cake getting smashed into each others faces), garter toss, bouquet toss, and a sparkler exit. What really stood out to me though was Shanna’s maid of honor’s speech. She talked about how her and Shanna had been through so much together and how she can finally say “I told you” to Shanna because she finally found someone who is over the moon for her and her daughter. I’d have to say, for the second time during the night, I may have been tearing up behind my camera.
Shanna and TJ, thank you so much for letting me be there for your big day! And I know I’ve already told you this, but make sure to drink a margarita for me while you guys are enjoying your honeymoon.
