A summer Oklahoma Hall of Fame wedding in the heart of Oklahoma City brought together timeless architecture, joyful celebration, and heartfelt moments as Maddie and Dylan said their vows surrounded by the people they love most. As an Oklahoma City wedding photographer, photographing a wedding at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame is always a dream, and this July 25 celebration was no exception.

Dylan kept it classic in a black suit with a white calla lily boutonniere. We photographed him in the wood paneled library of the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, seated in a leather chair beside a marble table of pink blooms, then leaning against the old wooden desk, and finally outside buttoning his jacket in the bright summer light before the ceremony.

A quiet black and white frame of Dylan smiling at the altar, moments before Maddie walked in, is one of my favorite groom portraits from the day.

The ceremony took place inside the museum, beneath the ornate chandelier. Maddie came down the aisle on her father’s arm as guests looked on from white chairs, flower petals scattered across the marble floor marking her path. Afterward she wrapped her dad in the biggest hug, her veil flowing behind her.

Maddie and Dylan exchanged vows facing each other in front of the grand double staircase with its wrought iron rails, tall floral urns framing them on both sides. The joy in the room was obvious, from their first kiss at the altar to the applause that followed their recessional walk back up the aisle hand in hand.

After the ceremony the wedding party walked the lawn together in black and white, Maddie’s bridesmaids in their black dresses and the groomsmen in classic black suits, laughing all the way across the grass in front of the museum.

Then it was just the two of them. Maddie’s long ribbon train cascaded down the grand stone steps of the 1926 facade as they descended hand in hand, her open back satin gown catching the light.

The neoclassical columns, manicured lawns, and pink crepe myrtles gave us endless options for newlywed portraits around the museum grounds. These Oklahoma Hall of Fame wedding portraits are some of my favorites from the entire summer wedding season.

Dylan carried her veil as they wandered the grounds, equal parts romantic and playful, Maddie looking back over her shoulder with that ribbon train trailing behind her.

We also set up a white backdrop outside the museum for an editorial mini session. The clean white background against the historic stone building made for such a striking contrast, and these frames feel straight out of a magazine, from the wide seated portrait to the close crop of Maddie’s bouquet of white roses, daisies, and calla lilies, her open back gown, and a black and white groom portrait to finish the set.

We ended the night with a few flash portraits after dark, a kiss under the lights and one moody black and white frame in the crosswalk. As an Oklahoma wedding photographer, these are the sessions I live for: beautiful light, a couple fully present with each other, and a venue that does half the work for you.

The reception design was full of personality. A lounge area with string lights, hanging floral lamps, greenery, and cream sofas gave guests a cozy spot to rest between dances.

Maddie and Dylan’s Oklahoma Hall of Fame wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, family, and friendship. Every element of the day, from the emotional ceremony to the joyful portraits around the museum grounds, reflected their personalities and the people they hold dear. Being trusted to document these moments as their Oklahoma City wedding photographer was such an honor, and I am so grateful I got to tell their story.
