You are jonesing for that airy, light gallery that represents the joy and passion between you and your fiance! I’ve got a few tips and tricks that will ensure your shoot beautifully showcases the love you and your partner share.

First things first, use the style guide I provide to get more specific ideas on what looks best in photos. I created it specifically for my couples to not feel like they are floundering! Keep in mind, this is your time to shine. Go all out! Buy that flowy, beautiful dress that you might not have a use for in your day to day life. Take on the task of convincing your fiance to wear a blazer and some slacks. Trust me on this one, you won’t regret talking him out of jeans! You only get one set of engagement photos, and they will be heirlooms for your family for generations to come. It’s worth the effort to get out of your comfort zone!

While we’re on the subject of you and your fiance’s wardrobe options, another good rule of thumb is to keep your clothes cohesive and coordinating while avoiding being too matchy-matchy. Think of complementary colors, textures that mesh well, and what looks good as a whole vision rather than dressing alike.

Finally, consider hiring someone to do your hair and makeup on the day of the shoot. I know! It might feel over the top, but not only will this take an incredible amount of stress off of your plate and make you feel more pampered before the shoot, it will aid in giving you the Pinterest-styled gallery you were dreaming of. Outsourcing your beauty routine might sound like a luxury, but you’re worth it! This is a special time in your life and you want to look back and remember not only how in love you are, but how beautiful you felt.
